The Beingness Collective
Insight Meditation for Perimenopause and Menopause
A four-week beginner series
Express Your InterestAbout the course
A small, in-person mindfulness group in East Vancouver for women navigating perimenopause and menopause, four weeks of breath, steadiness, and self-compassion, built for a body and mind in transition.
You don't need any meditation experience, just curiosity and a willingness to show up as you are.
What you'll explore
Rather than trying to fix or avoid difficult experiences, we learn to relate differently to the changes that arise in this stage of life, meeting sensations, emotions, and thoughts with interest and care, as simple human experiences that can be noticed and held in awareness.
Self-compassion
A key part of the course is learning to treat ourselves with that same kindness. This can support a more easeful relationship with the uncertainty, intensity, and shifts that come during this time, gently supporting emotional wellbeing and mental health.
Together
This stage of life can be strangely quiet. So much can be shifting, in the body, in mood, in a sense of who we are, and yet it often happens behind closed doors, rarely spoken about out loud. It's easy to feel like you're the only one going through it, even when you're not.
This course is held as a small group (6–8), on purpose. Not because you have to say anything, sharing is always optional, but because there is something steadying about simply being in the room with others who are meeting their own version of this same change. You don't have to carry it alone, even in the sessions where you say nothing at all.

About me
I've been a meditator, on and off, across a number of traditions for many years, never in a straight line, more like circling back again and again, each time a little newer to it than I expected to be. As I moved through perimenopause and into menopause myself, meditation became something I leaned on in a way I hadn't before, a steadying place in the middle of a lot of change.
That experience is part of what drew me to the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program (MMTCP), a training I'm currently enrolled in. Its blend of psychological depth and spiritual grounding is what resonated, it doesn't ask you to choose between the two.
This four-session course is offered freely, and it also serves as my practicum for the program, a chance to practice teaching the way I'm hoping to keep practicing meditation itself: as a beginner. Beginner's mind isn't something you graduate out of. It's what lets you actually meet what's here, instead of what you expect to find.
So I won't be leading these sessions as someone who has it all figured out. I'll be right here with you, still learning, still curious, still willing to not know. If that feels like the right kind of company for this stage of your life, I'd love to have you join.
